Camp
Philip Island Adventure Camp!
Day One
On the 6th of May, 2013, all of the year fives and sixes, went on camp. The bus was set to go at 8:30. We all said our final goodbyes to our families and hopped on to the bus, on our way to Koo Wee Rup. At Koo Wee Rup, we stopped at a skate part and ate our morning tea. Then we hopped on the bus again and went to San Remo to eat lunch and watch the Pelicans eat some food. Before we knew it we had arrived at Philip Island Adventure Resort 2013. When we got there, we unpacked our bags, got to know the place and had some free time. After they had told us all that we were of to Amazing Things. At Amazing things, we did all of these really cool things. Firstly our group went into this room where we had to complete a series of questions. Next we went into an illusion room where everything on the side. After that, we went into this room where you looked at a spinning wheel for 10 seconds without blinking, then look at your hand. It then looks like your hand starts moving. Its weird! Next we did my favourite thing about all of Amazing things.Go onto this really steep slide. You have to get into this orange jumpsuit and go down this really steep slide. When your on there, you feel like your going to crash because you go so straight but then it curves out and you realize that your safe. Next we went into another maze where you had to find four flags, red, Green, blue and yellow. Tereza and I found them all. Then we went back to camp, have some free time and then it was time for dinner. After dinner we always do an activity. On the Monday night we did Tabloid sports. Tabloid sports is a series of mini games that all of the groups have to complete. My group was called the sharks. We had to complete the following activicy’s. Crawl threw a tunnel, hit a ball across the net, hit a ball with a cricket bat, catch a ping pong ball in a cup and walk around a cone with an egg and spoon. After an exhausting day, we finally went to bed and fell asleep.
Day Two
We woke up to a sunny day at Philip Island adventure resort. When we woke up, we got changed, had breakfast and were ready to head of to Smiths beach. When we got to Smiths beach, we had morning tea, and then had free time for about one hour. Tereza, Maddy, Lucy, Steph, Kate, Emily and I built a volcano out of sand and a bottomless pit. After Smiths beach we were back at camp and ready to start our activities. Firstly our group did Raft Making. You had to build a raft out of big long poles, planks of wood and rope. Once our group had built the rafts, we put them into the water and had to paddle around a bouy and then take it back to land and take it apart as fast as you can. The other group won but we still held our head up high. Next was giant swing. We got harnessed, got hooked up to the giant swing and off we went. I went all the way to the top. When I pulled the rope I forgot what it was like and screamed a little. Before I knew it, we had finished the giant swing and were off to our last activity for the day. My teams last activity was team rescue. Team rescue is where you have to get across the other side of a course without touching the ground. You really have to work as a team in this. I found it quite challenging. After a whole day of fun it was time to get packed up and go and have some dinner. At dinner there was a formal dinner. You had to be escorted by a boy and attempt to some conversation with them. I was escorted by Marco but thank goodness I was with two other girls. When dinner was finished everyone was glad to leave and get ready for our nightly activity. First we did a trivia and during this trivia we had to work with our cabin groups. Then we had a dance off. We got to bust some moves and show our stuff. Before we new it, we were off to bed.
Day Three
Our final day had come at Philip island adventure camp. After we had got ready and had breakfast, it was time to do our final 2 activities. Our groups first activity for the day was the twin flying fox. We had to choose a partner to go down the flying fox with, get all harnessed up and off we went. My partner was Tereza. At the top of the twin flying fox it looks really high. Tereza was a little scared but I wasn’t scared at all. we jumped off that platform as if we were jumping off a roof and then started zooming down the zip line. That activity went as quick as daylight and then it was time for our final activity at Philip Island adventure Resort. Our groups last activity was canoeing. Again you had to choose a partner to canoe with and yes, again my partner was Tereza. During canoeing we had to ride around a lake and at the end of the session, there was a race. The only people in the race was Tereza and I, Max and Zac and the teachers but then the teachers let us have it so technically was only Tereza and I and Max and Zac in the race. Max and Zac had a 20 second head start though because there canoe was the right way. but we caught up to then and won the race. At the end of an exhausting day, it was time to leave Philip Island adventure resort. It was a long bus ride but we adventually got back to school and saw our families again. Camp was great!
